Whether she's playing an American abroad in Emily in Paris or bringing back her character Addison Montgomery on Grey's Anatomy, Kate Walsh always looks fabulous. So when we had the opportunity, we asked the actress to share her skincare routine — as well as her go-to workouts (weights and circuit training, Pilates, ballet, walking) and self-care practices (meditation, hanging out with her pets, being in nature).

"I tend to have dry skin, so I've always been mad about hydration, using body oils and creams," Walsh tells Woman's Day. She uses Biologique Recherche P50 as a base for her face, as well as BIOEFFECT EGF Serum. For her body, she uses Crepe Erase to address crepey skin. "It's really incredible because it targets that specific symptom, as opposed to just hydrating," says Walsh, who was recently named a celebrity ambassador for the brand along with fellow actress Jane Seymour.

When it comes to budget-friendly skincare products in her regimen, she loves the "super affordable" hyaluronic acid from Watts Beauty ($15). "I use it in conjunction with any kind of serum, oil, or cream for my face particularly, to lock in the moisture." She calls the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream All-Over Miracle Oil ($29) "magical" for her dry skin, in summer or winter. "It's all about hydration," the star stresses. "I'm a big fan of basic and keeping it simple and that you don't have to spend a fortune on things to keep your skin hydrated and healthy and looking good."

When asked to share the biggest lesson she's learned since turning 50, the 54-year-old says that by embracing change, for her, "life gets better and better; I get more conscious and wiser."

"This idea that we're supposed to stay the same, or stay how we were when we were 20 to when we're 30, when we're 40, when we're 50 — that's just a fallacy." Walsh stresses the importance of listening to what's going on with your body and making changes when needed, "whether it's skincare or haircare, getting enough sleep, or just the changes that happen or have happened physically [as you age]."

That's just one of the reasons she's partnered with Systane Complete Preservative-Free Lubricating Eye Drops, which she uses daily to combat dry eyes. "It is something that's very common as we age. And just like the way I hydrate my skin and I take care of my hair and my body, it's just this thing that I do for my eyes," Walsh says.

Note: Always check with your doctor first before trying new eye drops.

She notes that, "no one really tells you what it's like to get older — but it's pretty fabulous if you go with the flow and make the changes that you need to make to take care of yourself. Every challenge, in many ways, post-50 has also been a great gift. It's just more information on how to take better care of myself and how to live well."
