THE WHAT? GlycoBioSciences has filed a patent infringement lawsuit in the District of Columbia District Court charging L’Oréal-owned Vichy Laboratories with violating two patents related to formulations of polymer, according to a report published by Bloomberg Law.
THE DETAILS In the suit, GlycoBioSciences maintains that Vichy’s anti-wrinkle line containing hyaluronic acid infringes two of its patents for delivering sodium hyaluronate in a polymer matrix.
THE WHY? GlycoBioSciences alleges that it has had ‘brief communication’ with the French beauty giant but its licensing offers were declined.
